Southern Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe

Somalisa Camp is an award-winning tented safari camp set in the Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe. The area around the camp is known as “The Land of the Giants” because of the large elephant herds that are often seen around. Somalisa offers guests a wonderful getaway with breathtaking views of the Kennedy Vlei line. The camp consists of seven beautifully appointed Sail Tents with sliding doors, a glass wood-burner for cold nights and a floor fan for warm days. Each tent is fully en-suite with an indoor and outdoor shower and copper bathtub. The main deck is perfect for guests to relax and enjoy the views – the deck consists of a lounge and dining area as well as a small splash pool overlooking the waterhole.

Activities include game drives, both day and night and guided walks. Wildlife that can be viewed includes elephant, kudu, zebra, wildebeest, sable antelope, roan antelope (a rare and endangered species), gemsbok, buffalo, lion, leopard, hyena and giraffe.
